Under beautiful morning sunshine and despite the flies, a good field of 67 players teed off in the final Single Stableford event for the year. Winner on the day was Samantha Dryden with a fine score of 26 points, perhaps reflecting the fact that Samantha has been playing a lot of golf since she last played with the Tuross Vets quite some time ago. Samantha led home Les Thompson on 25, and then Mike Birks from Robert McKirdy on 24 points on count back. Balls or chocolates were won by Gail Rogers on 23, Ross Davidson on 22, Margaret Downey and Ian Wratten on 21, Ross Macalpine, Ann Ware, Bruce Ware and Noel Downie on 20, and then Ken Brown, Ken Hush, Len Rogers and Bruce Martin on 19.

Solveig Olsson took out the Bradman award whilst nearest the pins were won by Greg Thornton on the 4th, Tim Starr on the 6th, and Chris Wratten and Colin Fletcher on the 7th. Big Hitting Steve Johnson managed to hit one down the centre for a change to win this week’s Accuracy drive award.
