Tuross Head Country Club men’s golf held a two person Ambrose competition this week and a partnership of Ian McManus and Chris Cox won the event with a net score of 62.75 strokes
Second placing went to Bob Hay and Peter Hogan with 63 strokes. Leigh Coloe and Paul Schultz 63.75 and Brad Doolan and Ron Rogers 65 strokes filled the remaining award spots. Balls were awarded down to 66.50 stroke.
Nearest the pins were won by: A grade golfer Colin Houghton on the 4th hole with 2.26 m. Leigh Coloe was closest on the 6th with 4.60 m and Bob Hay was best on the 7th hole with 15 m. Closest of the B grade players was Russell Taylor on the 4th with 3.2 m and Kevin Dukes won the 6th with a very close 55 centimetres. C grade player John Eglitis won both the 4th hole with 3.38 m and also the 7th with 7.38 m.
Thursday’s medley golf competition was won by Ian McManus who capped off a good week with 41 stableford points ahead of Rex Wood 39, Ian Kingston 38 and Martin Booth 37 points. Nearest the pins were won by Glen Shearer and Rex Wood.
Junior golfers, or any junior interested in learning some of the basics, are invited to attend the junior golf clinic which is held every Tuesday at 4 pm until December 10th. The hour long clinic is being conducted by PGA professional Colin Holmes and golf equipment and balls are supplied. Bookings can be made at the club.
