Tuross Head Country Club men’s golf monthly medal competition is played over three divisions and the  A grade winner was well known Tuross and south coast golfer Colin Houghton with an excellent round of 69 strokes off the stick. Colin was closely followed by Ray Bollard with a net 70 strokes. Bruce Handley filled third spot with 71 strokes.

Ian Lawson was the best of the B grade division with nett 70 strokes winning on a countback from Tony Brown and Steven O’Shea.

Tuross C grade golfers handed in some excellent score cards. A low round of 66 nett strokes resulted in a win for Peter Johnston. Ross Hendy 68 and Nigel Barling 69 were not far behind.

The Golden Shot award was won by Colin Houghton with 2.08 m. Ian Lawson won the putting competition with 25 putts. The nearest the pin competition winners were Allen Gannon, Troy Kingdom and David Gray in the A grade division. Tony Brown, Peter Garn and Steve Swanbury were the best in B grade. Ian Hosking was closest on two holes in C grade.

Thursday’s stableford medley competition was awarded to Joel Hilliard with 42 points ahead of Rob Green 39, Allen Gannon 38.  Richard Wharton and Colin Houghton both finished with 37 points. Nearest the pins were won by Joel Hilliard, Steve Gardner and Al Gannon.
