The Annual Lakeside Triples turned out to be another excellent tournament. The two day event attracted 26 teams who competed for over $4000 in prize money. Though cool, the calm sunny weather made for excellent playing conditions.

The teams played seven games of ten ends over the two days. The evenness of the contest meant that no team won all seven games. In fact 15 teams had at least 1 draw. This meant that the final placings were not determined until the last games were completed.

The combined team of Keith Pickett (Narooma) Jeff Rankin (Moruya) and Nick King (Lake Conjola) edged out Dave Johnson, Dave Carter (both Moruya) and Jason Hossack (Bodalla) for top place by three shots after both teams finished with six wins. King’s team had a margin of plus 29 while Hossack finished on plus 26.

The Moruya team of Don Cooper, Chris Pollack and Shane Quinlivan finished third with 5 wins and draw and the best margin of all 26 teams of plus 41. Two other teams also had 5 wins and a draw. Coming in fourth was the Canberran team of Rod Tonkin, Alan Monfries and Ian Whybrow with a plus 27.

The Malua Bay Team of Laurie Fayle, Tony Gianniascia and Doug Ebsworth finished with plus 12. Though they lost only one game they had a draw and three wins with a margin of 1!! With one game to play they were in first place but they stumbled at the last hurdle and were forced back to fifth!

The final money winner in sixth place was the best placed local team of Stan Peck, Michael Kennedy and Alan Etheredge who had 5 wins and a margin of plus 22.

A big thanks to all of the sponsors who made the Tournament possible with their generous donations especially the local companies Cyclonic Roof Restorations, Eurobodalla Fire Service and Club Tuross.
