Vets Golf Stroke and Putts

Another good field of 56 players teed off on recently cored and sanded greens for this week’s Stroke and Putts event. Winners on the day were as follows:

1st. New player Dorothy Madden with a nett 31 strokes on count back.

2nd. Andrew Gordon, also with a nett 31, and again on count back.

3rd. Dennis Benger the third player with a nett 31.

Ball or Chocolate:

Solveig Olsson and Stephen Crossling with 32, Derek Hoare and Noel Fletcher on 33, Tim Starr, Michael Kermode, Paul Pereira, Lyn Benger and Bruce Martin on 34, followed by Robin Green, Gayle Macalpine, Henry Anderson and Graham Heuston all on 35.

Putts:

Allen Lee won the putting competition with a low 12 putts for 9 holes.

Bradman Award:

Our newest player Enid Besant-Lyon, who is really only just taking up the game, won the award this week. The handicapper has promised to be kinder next week!

Nearest the Pins:

Ladies 7th: Gayle Macalpine.

Men’s 7th: Neil Grimley.

Accuracy:

Herb Muriwai won this week’s Accuracy award.

Next week will see a change from our published program with a Par event being brought forward from the following week. Registration is in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am with a shotgun start at 8.30am.
