A good field of 55 players braved the prospect of rain showers during the morning and registered for the single Stableford event today. With the course in great condition and rain holding off, a range of very good scores were recorded on the day.
David Williams took out the day’s honours with a fine score of 25 points, followed home by Don Russell on 24, and Bruce Martin and Ron Hanlon on 23. Balls or chocolates went to Robin Green and Ken Brown on 22, Alan Lee and Michael Godford on 21, Ian Miller on 20, and finally Leonie Snodgrass, Barry Hoban, Robert McKirdy, Ross Macalpine and Les Johanson on 19. Herb Muriwai won the distinction of being this week’s Bradman winner on a three way count back. Nearest the pins went to Gayle Macalpine on the 4th, Ian Manton on the 6th, and Teri Swanbury and Ken Brown on the 7th. Richard Kelly took out the Accuracy award.
Next week’s game is a Par event.
