Vets Golf Stableford 3 Club

02/08/2017 All day
Address: THCC

A small field of 43 players teed off for this morning’s Vets Golf Stableford 3 Club event, the pre game thought process requiring some educated guesses on what two clubs to select as well as the mandatory putter. Despite having only 3 clubs a number of scores were little different to what you might expect with a full bagful. Results on the day were as follows:

1st: Gus Alameddine on 20 points on count back.

2nd: Len Rogers, also on 20.

3rd: Ageless Tim Starr with a fine round of 18 points.

Ball or Chocolate:

Kathy Crossling, Greg Thornton, Annette Manton and Andrew Gordon all on 17, Wal Williams and Frank Pomfret on 16, and finally Mike Birks and Ross Hendy on 15 points after a six way count back was required.

Bradman Award:

Patrick McNeile won this week’s award, clearly struggling with a limited club selection choice.

Nearest the Pins:

4th: Andrew Gordon.

6th: Andrew Gordon again, narrowly missing a hole in one on this occasion.

Ladies 7th: Gail Rogers.

Men’s 7th: Gus Alameddine.

Accuracy:

Keeping up her consistently good golf, Leonie Snodgrass took out this week’s award with a fine, long drive close to the centre string line.

Next Week:

Next week’s game will be a Par event, with registration in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am and a shotgun start at 8.30am.
