On what was a breezy start to the morning a good field of 57 players registered for this morning’s Coloured Ball Team Stableford event. Results on the day were as follows:
1st: Kathy and Stephen Crossling combining with Sandra and Ron Hanlon with an aggregate score of 43 points.
2nd: Tim Starr, Les Johanson, Ross Hendy and Noel Fletcher on 41 on count back.
3rd: Rob Nash, Greg Thornton, Richard Kelly and Rick Brake, also on 41, and also on count back.
4th: Annette and Ian Manton teamed with Jeanette and Ian Miller, on 41, and also on count back.
Unusually, a team of five players were unable to capitalise on their numbers, taking out the Bradman award after incurring penalties in having to admit to losing the designated coloured ball in the water. Players were Herb Muriwai, Mike Birks, Paul Pereira, Henry Anderson and Terry Lunn.
Nearest the Pins:
4th: Tony Crook, in the hole.
6th: John Cox.
Ladies 7th: Gayle Macalpine.
Men’s 7th: Bruce Martin.
One of our newer players, Dorothy Madden, hit a monstrous drive down the centre to take out this week’s Accuracy award.
Next week’s game will be a 2 Person Stableford Multiplier game with registration in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am and a shotgun start at 8.30am. The following week will be a Stroke and Putts event, also being the second and final round of this year’s Tuross Vets Championships.
