Tuross Head Country Club men’s golf took another step towards returning to a regulation golf calendar when the club conducted the monthly medal stroke competition.

Played over three divisions Dave Gray won the A grade section with a net score of 71 ahead of Mark Haberkorn who scored 72. Paul Rowe was the best of the B grade golfers with a very low 66 strokes with Frank Pomfret finishing with a close 67 strokes. C grade was awarded to Jim Madden with 68 strokes. Michael Allen was second with 72 strokes.

Paul Rowe’s score of 66 resulted in him winning the monthly medal. Christopher Rowe had the lowest off the stick score with 74 strokes.  The Golden Shot  award on the par 4  third hole was won by Anthony Lore with a second shot measuring 1.88 m from the pin. Colin Houghton won the lowest putting competition with 26 putts.

Next Saturday’s event is a single stableford round.

Thursday’s medley competition was won by Peter Nikolic with 39 stableford points ahead of Ted Quinlan 37, Colin Houghton and Paul Medwin both finished with 36 and Bruce Martin scored 35 points. Nearest the pins were won by Peter Nikolic, Bruce Martin and Kerrie Sands.
